WILL COSTS

We can prepare simple Wills from £200 plus VAT for a single person and £300 plus VAT for a couple.

More complicated Wills (House Trust Wills and Discretionary Trust Wills) will incur additional charges.

Please contact us for further Will pricing details

LPA COSTS

We charge £495 plus VAT for 1 LPA (Property and Financial decisions or Health Care decisions) for a single person and £595 plus VAT for both types.

We charge £595 plus VAT for 2 LPAs (Property and Financial decisions or Health Care decisions) for a couple and £795 plus VAT for both types for a couple (ie 4 LPAs in total)

PROBATE COSTS

Applying for the grant, collecting and distributing the assets

We anticipate this will take between 5 and 15 hours work at £175 - £200.00 per hour depending on the experience of the fee earner dealing with the matter. Total costs estimated at -£1,000.00 – £3,000.00 (+ VAT and disbursements).
The exact cost will depend on the individual circumstances of the matter. For example, if there is one beneficiary and no property, costs will be at the lower end of the range. If there are multiple beneficiaries, a property and multiple bank accounts, costs will be at the higher end of the scale.

Additionally we are entitled to make a charge according to the value of the assets of the estate, according to Law Society Guidelines as follows:

Non Solicitor acting as Executor: 1.0% of the gross estate less property or land, plus 0.5% of the property or land.
Solicitor as Executor: 1.5% of the gross estate less property or land, plus 0.75% of property or land.

This charge is intended to reflect the value of the Estate, the complexity issues, the speed at which action has to be taken, any particular expertise which may be needed, the responsibility accepted by the firm in undertaking the administration.

We will handle the full process for you.
This quote is for estates where:

There is a valid Will
There is no more than one property
There are no more than 5 bank or building society accounts
There are no other intangible assets
There are 1 – 5 beneficiaries
There are no disputes between beneficiaries on division of assets. If disputes arise this is likely to lead to an increase in costs
There is no inheritance tax payable and the executors do not need to submit a full account to HMRC
There are no claims made against the estate
All assets, beneficiaries and executors are in the UK

Disbursements which may be payable in addition to the above fee:

Probate application fee of £300.00
Bankruptcy only Land Charges Department searches (£2 per Beneficiary/Executor/Legatee)
£83.40 Post in The London Gazette – Protects against unexpected claims from unknown creditors.
£117.70 Post in a Local Newspaper - This also helps to protect against unexpected claims.

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties, such as court fees. We handle the payment of the disbursements on your behalf to ensure a smoother process.
